Customize hotkey

Adjust the hold-to-record shortcut so it doesn’t conflict with other apps.

Prerequisites

  • Fluesta desktop app (macOS or Windows)
  • Signed in (hotkey only works with an active account)
  • On macOS: Accessibility permission granted (see Troubleshooting)

Default hotkey

The default hotkey depends on your platform:

Change hotkey (Windows or custom combo on Mac)

  1. Open Settings in the desktop app.
  2. Go to the General tab.
  3. On macOS: Disable Use Fn/Globe key as hotkey first if you want a custom combination.
  4. Under Dictation hotkey, click Change.
  5. Press your desired combination (at least one modifier + one key).
  6. Click Save.

If Fluesta detects a conflict with another app, a warning appears — choose a rarely used combination.

Reset to default

  • macOS: Re-enable Use Fn/Globe key as hotkey under Settings → General.
  • Windows: Click Reset next to the current hotkey to restore Ctrl + Space.

Fn/Globe key (macOS)

On Mac, the Fn/Globe key is the default hotkey. If you use a custom key combination, Fn mode is disabled — the two modes are mutually exclusive.
